Fred began his role as Director of Faith Formation at the Casa in August, 2023. He has been serving as a fulltime minister within the Catholic Church since 1995. During the first 11 years of his career, Fred worked as a parish youth minister in NJ and then moved on to parish-based college campus ministry in Clemson, SC. After 5 years at Clemson, he joined the Office of Campus Ministries at the University of Scranton, serving as a campus minister for 10 years before traveling across the country to join us in the desert!​

Dedicated to faith formation, catholic social teaching (CST) education and voluntary service, Laura joined Faith In Action (FIA) Ministry staff in 2014, and is now Co-Manager of FIA. Her 15 years as Director of the Marianist Voluntary Service Communities (MVSC) involved placing full-time faith based intergenerational volunteers in service to community organizations in five states. For 18 years she developed and facilitated CST parish trainings for the Cincinnati (Ohio) Archdiocesan Catholic Social Action Office; and she collaborated with the University of Dayton Campus Ministry to create and implement Urban and Rural Immersion Retreats and post‑graduate service opportunities. She also served as Project Coordinator with the Marianist Social Justice Collaborative facilitating formation for the “Adele Young Adult Project” and “Call to Advance Justice.” At the Casa, she is grateful to work with FIA’s many outreach volunteers and on justice education.

Collaboration with members of the Casa community and FIA staff: organized, created and continues to update, edit and implement the program “Act, Love, Walk” Justice Formation in the Franciscan Way (2019). Based on Micah 6:8, and enhanced by the Franciscan charism and storytelling, this is a foundational 25-week course which is a springboard for a variety of FRC/FIA short education/formation courses.
Donna and her husband, Brian, have been community members since their marriage in 2003. Since then, they have raised two children in the faith, and Donna has dedicated countless hours as a parent volunteer with faith formation. When Donna came on staff full-time working in Faith Formation in October of 2016, she expressed a desire to accompany other parents who are facing the obstacles, joys, and triumphs of raising a family in the Catholic Church. Since then, she has developed a full and multi-faceted family ministry to serve the families of the Casa!

Cheryl’s journey into ministry began in 2006 when she converted to Catholicism and entered into the Church at the Easter vigil. Prior to working in parish ministry, Cheryl worked in various teaching roles in public and Catholic schools. Starting in 2015 she switched to parish ministry and spent seven years as the director of faith formation at Ascension Parish in Fountain Hills, Arizona. Her experiences at Ascension helped fuel her passion for serving in young adult ministry and in 2021 she has the privilege of working with young adults at the Casa.

Victor Jaimes

Victor has been serving as Co-Manager of Faith in Action Ministry since March 2022. He began his Catholic ministry journey ignited with the Lasallian charism in undergrad at Saint Mary’s College of California. He then embarked on a post-graduate year of service with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps in Philadelphia serving as a paralegal and legal educator for farmworkers. After completing his service, he pursued a graduate education at Villanova University and worked in Villanova Campus Ministry for 2 years as Hispanic minister and immersion coordinator. Prior to working at the Casa, he worked as a Produce and Customer Service team member at Whole Foods. Victor is now blessed to be advancing the mission of the Franciscan friars!

Vincenzo Torsiello
Youth Minister

Vincenzo has been serving as the Youth Minister at the Franciscan Renewal Center since January of 2024. He has served in various music ministries for as long as he has been playing instruments which has deepened his love for liturgy and faith formation and has led to a deeper and more holistic connection with God. He pursued his undergraduate studies at the University of Notre Dame, where he was able to expand his love for ministry through involvement with the Catholic Worker Movement, theological studies, and leadership in Residential Life. Prior to working at the Casa, he worked as a professional musician, private tutor, and writing consultant through his university's Writing Center. The Casa enlisted Vincenzo to be instrumental in our 25 Year Strategic Planning Visoning Process theough which he coordinated and documented every step. Vincenzo is very excited to be serving the Casa and carrying out its mission. Paz y Bien!
